Hi all, great forum site - answered a lot of questions.
Passed my test 14 months ago at the grand old age of 53 and have been having fun on a cbr600 fv since.
On long rides i was getting neck and wrist problems ( due to age i expect ) and decided to change bikes. The choices were a blackbird or a vfr, and having talked to an old friend about vfr's decided to go and try one out.
Luckily there were 2 for sale in the same area so last Saturday decided to take the plunge. Ended up with a 1998 800fi with 12000 miles on. Trailered home and checked it out on sunday ready to ride.
Did 130 miles on mid wales roads on tuesday and wow - so comfortable and handles as well as the cbr. even got to grips with counter-steering - so much easier than just leaning.
The bike is Silver and Black and as soon as I get out next I will take pics and post them.
Best wishes to all - ride safe.

Congratulations geoffdragon. I recently went through a similar situation- 50 something years old, looking for a comfortable sport bike and deciding on a 2007 VFR. Have already put 3000 miles on the bike and love every second I get to ride. The VFR is surprisingly powerful, accidentally pulled a wheelie when leaving a stop light the other day. Ride safe.
