Is there a way to incorrectly install the linkage in such a way that reduces the seat height? Some other cause? Shock maybe??

I have a 3rd gen that I've restored an I've noticed that the seat height is really quite low. I have a 6th get too and that seat seems quite a lot higher. I'm not short and just want the bike to ride at the factory height. Any input as to potential reasons for the low height would be appreciated.

I do know that flipping the "triangles" will lower the height about 1/2" on a 6G. Not sure on the 3G LTE. There are arrows stamped on the plates, make sure they are aimed the right way.

6G link for reference - note arrow pointing forward after the 1525 at the top.

If it's the same 1990 as mine it doesn't have triangles, but uses a knuckle which sits inside a dogbone bracket (see image in post above mine).

You'll need a shorter throw dogbone. I got one from an 87 vfr for mine, but my back end was low due to putting a zx14 rear shock in it, so not sure if the dimensions are the same.

If it's just dogbones, you can make those yourself from stainless material.... play with shorter hole spacing in some scrap material to get the height you want.... I don't know the ratio of the relay arm, likely around 2.5:1-ish, so 5mm shorter spacing will get you roughly 12-15mm height change? If there are triangles, flip them around?

There aren't any dogbones on the 3rd gen. What would be the dogbones attach to the tube that the bolt goes through that also houses the bearings and seals. The only option I know of is the german VFR specialist who's name eludes me right now has one that raises the rear or an aftermarket shock that has adjustable height as an option. The suspension piece will be cheaper, but you will still have the stock shock which leaves alot to be desired.

Lust Racing also comes to mind.

Yes, Thurn is the one. I'll have to check out Lust racing as I haven't heard about them.

Lust racing doesn't appear to have anything for the 3rd gen that I see.
