I thought seriously about an OEM style resto (I am a stickler for OEM restos) however, aside from not being keen on the graphics, there re no aftermarket decals available for the 93 that are accurate or "printed". All the ones available are poorly done and the multi colours are layers of vinyl and none of them have the "fade" or transition from Blue to Purple. So, since it cant be done without great expense to get them reproduced by me, Im goin' Pepsi.

the OEM Graphics on the right side were too scratched up to save.

That fender brace.....wow. I guess they did not want it to fly off.....!

I vote for the Pepsi graphics. I thought that GSXR looked terrible even when new. EVERYTHING had that splash graphic design. It was so EXTREME

    Extremely dated now.

Yea, its a strange hunk of metal that fender brace, never seen anything like it.

I think Honda did OK with the splash and slash graphics, but the others not as well.

Top Tip for the day boys. Always clean and drain your ultrasonic cleaner BEFORE you put the carbs back in the bike. I now have to figure out where this rogue O-ring came from, found it in the bottom of my USC. I obviously missed it on the carbs when I disassembled them, but I only found 1 not 4. Fun Fun Fun....I do have an "idea" where it goes, but still have to pull the F'n carbs out again.

Crap....the old "parts left over after assembly" deal. Man that sucks.

Yea, I broke my own rule. I left the solution in the USC for a while instead of draining it right away.

Im sooo careful when I disassemble carbs all the parts go in a separate bin for each carb, I cant believe I missed it. Of course I could be from my neighbours snowblower carb, thats the reason I left the solution in there, but....I dont think so.

Here is the prototype K-Link rear suspension I was going on about. So far everything is very positive from the testing, aside from the engine going tits up at the last track test...Evan and Phil are in the process of building it a new engine. My fabricator buddy did all the CNC work for the parts and pieces and the welding. It's really clean. You can see one of the new sideplates welded to the frame.

They were pretty sensitive about taking pictures of it, even though it's patented, but they said OK, as long as no Facebook or Twitter, so please don't copy the pics and put them up anywhere. Just thought you guys might like to see it, especially because it's on a GSXR and this is a GSXR thread.

Damn, thats pretty slick NB. that K-Link is probably worth more than my bike. Very cool.

Wasn't Colonel K-Link in charge of the POW camp in Hogan's Heroes? Or do I know nothing?

As for graphics if you want gradients, etc.... take a look at the "sunshade" on many cars.... they are a series of black dots of graduated sizes and spacings. Look at signs of businesses or on city busses with perforated wraps on windows (so you can see out from the inside), all those are is a printed "decal" or really a vinyl wrap..... the material is UV resistant, sticks well and someday can be removed (city busses change theirs seems like every year).
If you have a high-rez photo of the graphic you want, take it to a sign-making shop near you and they can print that up on their very large plotter printers, the possibilities are endless..... you'd be surprized how much they don't cost, but they aren't necessarily cheap either. Worth it for a restoration? Doesn't cost anything for a quote.

Yea, I get them made form a local shop that can print the fade I need for OEM decals, but..... the cost is just not worth it. It would cost way to much for this particular bike. Ive gotten quotes from a couple of local shops for this type of work and the cost gets up there pretty quick. Some bike decals makers will do them from free IF they want the pattern for their inventory (I've done this before too). Unfortunately right now no one is interested in doing them because 1) they're run off their feet and cant keep up due to high demand thats been a carry over from COVID lockdown where everyone has apparently been restoring bikes, and 2) no one is interested in doing 93 GSXR decals because no one is restoring them (except me it seems).

These guys make the vast majority of 93 GSXR decals that are out there (sold all over the place ) and they're awful. I had a set of RC51 decals from these guys and I threw them away. They were inaccurate, poorly made and even the wrong font was used for the "RC51" as well as it being almost 30% too big. I even sent them new measurements from OEM decals for all the inaccuracies I found and they couldn't care less. https://moto-sticker.com

Compare those clowns to the splendid work done by "Image Works" in the UK or by AFE Graphics in Canada (CBDecals.com, RDDecals.com and other sites they have) and its no comparison. the quality difference is astounding.

That is where I order all my decals. Here's some I had custom made for the 95 VFR. I'm going to have them do my Hawk decals too.

SC Thanks for the review of these guys....I was looking at that site and was wondering about them.

It would absolutely SUCK to have this happen. Won't go near them now.

Todays Suzuki shit show was brake rotor removal.

Now, I've removed my fair share of rotors in the past, without much trouble, so never have I encountered so much green factory locktite and corrosion as on this bike.

Of the 15 chocolate Allen bolts (Rear & Front) 4 of the Allen heads stripped out (the 4 that I heated with the butane torch before hand in my efforts to melt the locktite a bit). 2 of the stripped 4 I got out by hammering a Torx socket into the stripped head, the other 2 are still in the rear wheel/rotor. The rear wheel is at the local tractor guy (good welder) to get 2 nuts welded to the Allen bolts so I can turn them out. Most of the bolts wouldn't even turn out with a ratchet, I had to use a 24" breaker bar, right to the last thread !!- UNBELIEVABLE this thing is fighting me every step of the way.

Ill be chasing all the threads with a tap I guess, so much shyte in there and new bolts have been ordered from Suzuki.

The other crazy thing is the weight of the headlight unit and fairing stay -- HOLY CRAP is that assembly heavy. Suzuki must have been getting paid by the Kilo when they built these.
