Know the politicians who works for the oil companies and stop voting for them; Biden may not be the one.. or the only one that you voted for.
Hurt the oil companies in ways you can, stop buying gasoline.
Support your local native American politicians, hopefully they are not receiving contributions from oil companies.

Complete mismanagement of resources. The current wave is half as high as the pre-vaccination wave. And yet there are now less hospital resources available than there was then. The Larimer County health director and others are under fire for attempting to retaliate against free speech. https://freestatecolorado.com/larim...ng-citizens-who-disagree-with-covid-mandates/

Two weeks ago the local ambulance company was making four trips per day bringing covid patients into northern colorado. folks need care and sharing resources is a good thing. But folks managing the resources want the public to believe it’s the public’s bad behavior and not mismanagement of resources that has created the problem.

also, the current wave barely registers on the graph of fatalities from covid.

As much as we dislike politicians, doesn't matter who's in there, you can't please everybody. It's been going on long before the current batch..... reminds me of that Billy Joel song, We Didn't Start The Fire.

Mismanagement of resources in the hospitals or ICU department specifically?
What contributes to the "current wave" being half as high as the pre-vaccination wave? maybe vaccine is working to reduce hospitalization?
If vaccine is working, disagreeing with vaccine mandate in high-risk occupations is just putting the unvaccinated at risk, no?
Regardless of free speech or not, putting people at risk is bad behavior, is it not?

Is that so? can you show the graph in your post?
Does graph show the fatality rate of CO state only or nationwide?
What's the time frame of the graph?

Most of your 20 questions doesn’t even warrant a response.

But the request for source is reasonable and my data comes from here: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/colorado/

I personally know 2 people that died from their personal choices and a lot more that regret it including one of my best friends that was total anti vac until he spent 16 days in a coma on a vent. He is now vaccinated. His choice after almost dying. Sometimes the sky has to actually fall to understand and not make it a matter of freedom, free speech, individual rights, politics or whatever.

Regressed right back to the old shit. This is a fucking MOTORCYCLE forum. Isn't it suppose to be something that brings us all together around a cool fucking Honda V4? This divisive crap is not helping anybody. Nobody is changing their mind. All I'm discovering is who I wouldn't want to hang with at a party, social gathering or cool garage, regardless of what "side" they are on regarding "freedoms", "rights" or "choices". I know I can just not tune in. Fine. I fucking worked on a bike today. Even worked on a buddy's bike. I didn't surf YouTube for some shitty video that I think proves I'm right, or dig up some completely stupid specific statistic and post it as some kind of triumph. Going back to work on a cool fucking V4. Go back to your FB, or Meta, or whatever the fuck.

"So this thread will have some rules. As I said earlier, this is a VFR forum, people make friends here. We get together for group rides and parties. Treat this thread as you would any real life party or social gathering. If you wouldn’t walk into someone’s garage and puke some random political pet peeve of yours and walk out, then don’t do it here. That’s what Twitter is designed for, do that over there and get your likes and flaming vitriol there. If your mode of conversation would likely get you punched in the mouth at a party, it’ll get you moderated here."

I’m sure we all know people who died riding motorcycle. Being free doesn’t go hand in hand with being safe. People are free to be stupid too.

    Amen, Brother!
I regret ever even looking at this thread!!
I wish that I never responded to any of this crap!!!
Unwatched and not coming back, this is a very cool thing(VRFW) that brings us together and this pile of garbage here is tearing us apart.
The motorcycle that we all love is what we agree on and should be our focus here?
I would like to humbly ask to get rid of ANY political agenda on this site, could we do that?

Demonstrating the very reason on some forums, politics and religion are verboten...
The ones that do the P and R discussion have turned to shit.
I dont comment on those at all....
since I would be tempted to call a few people .. stupid fucking assholes....
Also generally have stopped visiting them too....

    Serious question

If the democrats pass their BBB legislation... if/when the republicans get back in power, can't they just start cancelling the things they don't like? Ie like the removal of funds for the border wall or rollback of MPP like the dem's did when they got into power?

I seem to keep reading over and over that some of the BBB social assistance programs will be in effect 'forever' but I'm not educated enough in the US political process to understand how real that is versus just scare tactics... my assumption is next time there is a changing of the guard, all of the policies they don't like start getting changed

IMO, generally people avoid political discussions because they are out of practice.
Lack of practice makes folks unable to discuss politics without resorting to personal attacks.
Lack of political discussions leads to polarization of different views,
further disable empathy for others with different backgrounds & situations in life.
Learning & practicing in ANY discussions take understanding to participate.
When folks refuse to understand how our government works & refuse to accept reality; there is no discussion to be done.

Regardless the reason you came to this forum, topic of this thread is clearly stated.
If you cannot discuss the topic of thread, you don't have to participate in the discussion, and there is no need to name call the other participants.
If you have an opinion about a discussion in thread, make sure the opinion is valid with evidence from reliable sources that you can offer support to your opinion.
Anyone can have an opinion, whether the opinion is valid or just BS is determined by the quality of evidence you have in support.

Maybe you're not into politics, but your employer is, your landlord is, those that can effect your income & cost of living are certain into politics.
Voter participation in America is on average in the teens in percentile for most local or state elections.
Why do you think politicians & elected officials can avoid being accountable for their campaign promises, their actions in or out of office?

Those who think pandemic is not affecting political landscape:
nearly 745,000 Americans have died according to CDC; how many of those do you think are voters? https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/covid-data/covidview/index.html

Thank you everyone for the lively discussion! Love the fact that our passion extends well beyond motorcycles. Now back to our regularly scheduled less controversial oil and tire threads.

I would encourage everyone here that even though you may have vehement disagreement with some of the things some of the people on here might have said, I have actually been face to face with many of the people from either side of any of the topics that have come up here and been able to have discussions with them without fists being thrown.

Take things on the internet with a grain of salt and know that most likely if you went riding with that dude that thinks your particular opinion about XY or even Z is completely ridiculous, you most likely would have a good time hanging out riding and maybe having a beer together.

Some people speak (or type internet messages) with a fair bit of hyperbole. I do not believe anyone here would actually kill another person over politics and if I read a statement like that, I take it as just an exaggeration to make their opinion clear.

If I say anything that makes you feel like I'm calling you a name, know that it isn't intentional and the only reason I have what I would consider a strong opinion on this past 4000 pages of COVID is it's the first time I recall someone coming into my house and telling me what is what. I don't know what all of you do for a living, but I do know that I wouldn't collect info from different sources around the internet to reinforce my belief that you don't know your job.

I backed off this thread for a couple weeks because I just didn't see it going anywhere, but I respect what I believe Tink was trying to do when he created it. I don't think we are going to solve our political divisions on a motorcycle forum, but I do believe I can tell you how to rewire a Yamaha voltage regulator to replace the one on a 5th gen VFR and have a better r/r.

I'll give up on sharing my professional, educated, trained opinion on what it is like in my chosen career path of medicine if it somehow crosses into your political (I guess agenda is the right word?). I still stand with it being very frustrating to me, though. I don't argue with my doctor when he tells me I'm fat. :)
