Any NightHawk Love here? I got this 1985 NightHawk 650 on a whim from the original owner. 10k and well taken care of. I had a test ride and it was really fun to ride and quite fast so I gave him the $2250. I will have it for the occasional blast. I was surprised I liked it. Fits in with my VFR, RD350LC and XT350. I've always liked the look and sound of the nighthawks. Never had one though. Closest I got was my cb550 four.

Me too. I have admired them from afar. The In-line 4 sounds great. This thing is a small fry compared to my VFR.

Worked on an '86 about 4 years ago while visiting a buddy... had a miss at idle.... not enough time to dig in deeper, but we got it running better...... then worked on a buddy's '85 in rougher shape, he got it for a song.... low compression, would only run on 3. Compression came up just by running it for a while. Pulled the carbs (fun job) and the jets were plugged on #3.... cleaned them, ran like a charm.
Yours looks in really good shape and all shiny.... shaft drive, yes?

Yes shaft drive. When I figure out time travel and get back to the ‘80’s I will bring this with me and get the Ladies. Or maybe the RD350LC. I will keep you posted.

Nice ride! I had an '83 for a bit, and it was a very nice all-around bike.

The shaft drive would tend to lift the bike a bit between shifts if you really got on it I recall.

I had zero problems with it, and it had been treated very roughly before I got it.
