Improving Rear Brakes

Been searching and have not found a thread on rear brake improvement. My front brakes are great. Rear brake is pretty much useless. New pads, fluid flush, etc, was just done.

Anyone done anything that helped the rear brakes? Maybe braided lines?

The rear brake will never be great, but you don't really use it all that much anyway. The greatest improvement I found was the HH brake pads. I also put on the stainless lines, but the different brake pads were the big difference. What kind of brake pads did you put on?

 

The rear brake is probably more effective than you think.... in a panic stop, it will likely work fine. Most say their rear brakes are a little lame, but really, they aren't.
Try tying down your rear brake pedal overnight, in case some residual air is lurking... it should help, try again next day.

 

The race shop that worked on my brakes used Carbone Lorraine pads. I have no previous experience with these. Fronts are great.

I like having some rear brake. Especially for hills. Just trying to not have to step down so hard.

a maintenance item usually neglected is the slider pins..............

remove for cleaning and re-lubing, gotta be careful not to shred the rubber booties.
