Which "seals"? If they had the right crankcase off they might have disturbed the Pulsar Coils. I guess popping the Alternator cover off might be worth it too to eliminate. Plug wires routed to correct cylinders?

I am confident that the wires were routed correctly as it idles ok.

I will add to my list of things to check. Is that a wet compartment?

You'll get some drips / dribbles when you remove the cover. Normal. It has some passages around the crank area.

OK so I don't need to drain the oil?

Out of curiosity, what is the electrical cable that comes out of what I think is the clutch housing?

wires are for pulse generator coils. lean the bike against the right side and no oil will spill.

I mean on the right side.
Yes I did. The main jets and needles are the stock sizes. Installed without shims, if that is the question...

If you are talking about removing the RIGHT crankcase cover with out draining the oil, yes you can. The side stand puts just about right. You can
roll the bike on to a couple 1" chunks of wood for insurance.

I have been using a funnel and spare fuel line. Fuel level up at the clutch lever height.

OK been back at it. New battery for bike.

I removed the coils to check them. They seem to be on the mark. I did notice the #3 plug wire cap didn't measure right. I disassembled/reassembled and it did measure good then.

I truly believe that I have a float valve that is not closing all the way - or just leaking somehow. All the fuel left my funnel supply and I definitely didn't burn it. Went to turn it over and it felt locked up (like fuel filled the cylinder). Bike otherwise seemed to have more pop when it tried to start earlier.

All that said, when I was putting the coils back together on the bike, and have some questions.

    1. Do both plugs fire at the same time on a coil?
    2. The coils have no + and - on them. Is there a positive and negative on the coil - B/W and Blue?, B/W and Yellow

    I have
Top coil pair going to 1 and 3.
Bottom coil pair going to 2 and 4.

Black and white going to the rearward tab on the coils. Yellow on top, blue on bottom on the "front" spade connectors.

    Thanks, I am getting closer!

check for a wet plug to find the leaky needle. yes the coil primaries have a preferred polarity, so look at the wiring diagram. on coils black (or black and white) is ground. both plugs fire at the same time (wasted spark).

Thanks. My issue is that the wiring diagram I have does not show the orientation of the + and - on the coil.

Is it a safe assumption that if I had the polarity wrong it would not run at all?

no, i believe it will run with wrong polarity, but not run best. the terminals on the coils are color coded if you look carefully. you should have marked leads b4 you removed them.

Found a pic I had taken before removing. Ground to the rear, Yellow on lower coil and Blue on top.
