Since we're on the subject, does anyone have photos of the lock for a vf500f solo cowl? I have the cowl but no hardware of any kind. I'm trying to figure out the threads in the seat for the front two screws, and any info about the lock. I've never seen one in photos or in person.

I would think it's the same as the 1000...

It is the same And it's even easier to create the latch. Using the scooter parts I pictured above. The handle has a threaded hole underneath, just need to create a small bracket to hold the catch.

I know this sounds weird, I wish I only had 6 bikes to "get ready". I did it to myself tho. I love and hate it at the same time. But ultimately love, or I wouldn't be here. Part of the reason is so I always have a running option when so many bikes need something. It's a constant turnover.

    Wha wha wha. Ha!

I'll try and make some progress on the 1000.

I totally understand my friend … I have 12 and it’s always a task keeping them in top form…. Btw I think I’ll sell you that seat off the Vfr750 I just picked up.
    I’ll pm you later

Thanks for the tip, it took me a second to figure out how it would work but I get it now. Just one question, what keeps the barrel from turning if you were to just put a screwdriver in it? Nothing really I guess, just don't keep anything too precious in there?

You could def force it with a big screwdriver, just keeps good people good.

I will be real interested to see if your scooter parts work out. Finally got my parts from the powder coater 2 weeks turned into 5 weeks. I am so close to being able to ride...anything at this point. The worst looking bike in my stable is the only one that works. mwhahahahaaa
