Well fook me! I did it again.

We were out on a fall forestry road jaunt today. I survived the mud, water and rocks. I even plowed through dozens of pot holes 20-30 feet long and wide and I swear, a couple of them were at least 2 feet deep, because I was plowing water and splashing it up and back over me into my face because my face shield was open. I felt like I was at the helm of the USS Arizona, I plowed so much water. But I stayed true and just pushed though, just getting wet.

Well, on the last stretch of our ride, I was entering one of those fukken traffic circles and mis-judged another vehicles speed and had to stop very short and sudden. Lost my balance and laid the Beamer down on its side at the edge of this very busy traffic circle. I am here to tell you, a BMW F800GS is a bitch of a bike to pick up by yourself.

So that makes it 13 for me. I am just a soldier you know.

So not mentioning any injury means you’re alright.
I know we don’t bounce at our age like we used to.
13 is the highest on the list?

I am off this weekend for yet another adventure bike ride out somewhere in the Fraser Canyon so my count may raise.

Added to your steadily rising count. You will note I also added a space after your name just in case we run out of room.

I still have a decent head of hair but kerist it is bright!. On a sunny day, I need to wear sunglasses so my glistening hair does not blind me reflecting off glass buildings.

I don't even worry about dropping the VFR, to me, it's a light bike in comparison to my former sport tourers. However, there was a dumshit moment when I decided to push it onto the bike lift rather than ride it up like I usually do..... it fell off to the right, cracked the lower fairing and broke the mirror off.... swear jar was mighty full that day. All fixed but a wee scar showing on the fairing, we'll just say chicks dig scars.

Congratulations to raYzerman. He has joined this secretive elite group of misfits and clumsy scooter hooters. He has a way to go to clime the ladder to the best of the best. The crème de la crème. We do have confidence he will do his best though.

I dropped my VFR while standing still. The ground was not flat, and I let the bike get too much of an angle while trying to turn. I blame it on the hot chick looking at me from her car, haha.
Luckily, a fellow rider was close and helped me pick it up. Ended up with only scratches on the fairings, no broken stuff, so that's good.

AH! HAH! A new member. And relatively new to the forum. I think he is after Scubalong's crown here and is of to a good start. Welcome CunFuse. There is a thread somewhere here. "What does your username mean" If you can find that thread, it would be interesting to see where your username came from.

I'm brand new, 1st day here, but I'll play along!

    2002 F4i - dropped 3 times.
Drop 1 - In my yard, approx 2mph, slick grass, sloped yard. No damage.
Drop 1.5 - not my fault/no damage - friend knocked it over.
Drop 2 - crowned gravel road that GPS took me on, approx 5 mph, slid into 'ditch'. Scatched right fairing.
Drop 3 - Asphalt road, 10-15mph, HARD lowside, AC joint separation (grade 3), totaled the bike.

And that's why I'm here. Looking for a replacement.

Well dam dam damned. I have to update my own ever climbing record.

Reg and I took a tour up to Alaska in early June. I was not on the VFR this time, instead taking my Africa Twin. We were over nighting at Tok Alaska and visited with a limey who now resides in Florida, who was riding an Africa Twin as well. He warned us of a lot of construction outside of Dawson City Yukon. Well a one night stay in Dawson City and we were off.

We came upon the construction scene in question and were waiting for the pilot car to escort us through the site. We were following right behind and were not going really that fast. But the road was very wet and muddy. The rear wheel started to slide around. The rear began to wag the front. Front wheel dug in and bike went down. I was thrown off.

We got the bike picked up and I managed to ride on with it to Whitehorse where we rented a U-haul and trucked the bikes back to Chilliwack. There was damage to my brand new bike including a leaking fork. That is the only thing I am getting fixed...on the bike. Other items are in the process of being repaired through our health care system.
