I'm thinking about loosing alot of $ on the VFR and looking for a ZX-11 which I've had before.

Low end torque, the VFR doesn't have.

so u think an inline 4 has more torque at low rpms than a v-4 ???? that's generally not the case, and comparing 800 to 1100cc isn't right.

Yes. The ZX would pull all day at 4g. It's a displacement thing. Rpms just frassel the nerves unless your on an open track.

I have had nice, low-miles 5th-gen (2000 Screaming Yellow Zonker) VFR800 in the past (and loved it), but sold the bike (like a stupid-head). Very recently I bought a nicely maintained 2002 6th-gen Viffer, but with some trepidation over it being the first year the VTEC system was added. Opinion seems to be divided over the VTEC, some saying they hate it (unnecessary technical complication) and others saying it's fine, "no sweat". I'd be interested in hear any opinions from those who've used both 5th-gen and 6th-gen Viffers. I was ALSO 'gifted' with a 1992 ZX1100 that has been sitting for 5 years...currently working on it to restore it to operational status, but I recently missed the opportunity to get a beautifully maintained (only 15,000 miles) 1997 ZX1100 (although owner was asking waaaaaay too much at US$6600...still...).

Get the VFR1200 - best of both worlds.

I had a 93D and a 96 ZX11 years ago and and even though I have a ZX14r I still missed that old analog raw power. These days there is nothing decent left to even look at so I did the next best thing. I bought a 03 ZZR1200 and turned it into my daily driver. Stock its already up 10 hp over the 11 but I added a full 4-2 exhaust and Ivans jet kit. It came with an MRA screen and helibars and was a blast to take on a 2200 mile road trip the first month I had it. If you can't find a decent 11 I suggest looking into the ZZR. zzr1200 trailer.jpg
