Just working my way through the bike and its servicing time.
Little difference in price so should i go with iridium plugs or the stock ngk's?
Anyone fitted them? is there any worthwhile difference?

Be interested to know myself, whether or not they help the bike run any cooler or not. Always a plus on my VFR

100% yes. I found quicker, more reliable startup and the engine just seemed “snappier”.
    I won’t go back.

I run them in all my modified engines. Seemed to make the engine idle smoother and they actually performed better on the dyno than the standard plugs in back to back to back runs. Same day, same conditions, same dyno, multiple days.

I put them in because of their supposed longer life. Considering what a hassle it is to change plugs I don't have to do that again. Bike seemed to run the same as before.

I installed them because of their supposed longer life. Considering what a hassle it is to change plugs on my "98 VFR I like not having to do that any more. As for performance , I couldn't tell the difference.

just fitted them earlier, big difference in starting and bike sounds crisper. old plugs were rusty so had been in for a while by the look of them!

I've a Guzzi, and the owner's manual warns against using them along with the OEM supressed HT-leads. If the Iridium plug's number contains an 'R', they're unsuitable lest the leads are changed too. It's something to do with the additional resistance vs the bike's ECU output/mapping, I believe. I've no idea if the VFR is sensitive to this, but it's worth checking.

Always read manual, resistance is needed for "smother" spark, to filter sparkling noises. If OEM have resistance, buy alternative with same resistance(sometimes you can choose. HV end needs resistance summ from plug and wire. Iridium is OK if used in high compression engines. But, iridium is afraid from flooded spark plug. If unsure about doing mod, dont do.
