Hello guys, I am Carlos from California. I am back to riding after about 25 years. I recently bought a 2014 VFR 800F. I love this bike and I am adding modifications almost one every two weeks.
First mod done on bike was the exhaust, which I replaced with a DElkevick, what do you guys think of the tone?? I like the tone, its better than the stock.
I also installed cameras in front and back, Oxford heated grips, Ram mount for cell phone and also a Voltmeter.
I rode my bike two days ago as we had some sunny days her in CA before we start to get some really cold days. I live in the High Dessert area near the san Bernardino Mountains, So I only use my bike for Mountain twisties.
I love my bike and I really love the sound of V-4 , V-Tec. I previously owned a 2008 Honda civic SI, and tought it was fun when you reach the 7000 RPM, but it does Not compare to 7000RPM in this VFR800.
I am an Aviation Mechanic and currently work at LAX and I am a married guy, but Riding is my new hobby.
What do you guys think, Am I the only guys in his 50"s that is CRAZY about Motorcycles. R-3 and VFR.jpg

Hi Carlos and Welcome to the MadHouse.:Welcome:

Congratulations on adding photos of your VFR with your first post.

There are quite a lot of forum members located in and around California especially in and around LA with some not far from LAX, so if you ever need help you may want to update your forum profile to include a more precise location - like Huntingdon Beach and you never know there may be folks living nearby willing to help or at least offer advice especially if you have a well stocked beer fridge:drink:.

Likewise post up if you are looking for people to ride with, as runs up to places Like Borrego Falls or Alice's are very popular destinations whenever the weather is good assuming all those fires have died down...

    Meantime take care ATGATT

Welcome to the World. We are plums stock full of talent, information and technical help. Unfortunately, none of that is available from me. I am one of those needy people here.

I arrived in the motorcycle scene after 51 years away form it. Just over 51 years previous to that, my mom and dad did something that resulted in my arrival on scene. In other words, I took my first ride at the controls of ay bike when I took delivery of my brand new VFR in August 2006. But I have made up for past losses. I have racked up over 135K miles or so on that bike, a lot of it riding around SoCal, where I have met so many just great people. Several of those people, I have met quite a few times and still look forward to riding with them in the future oi this COVID thing settles down. Maybe out paths may cross. I do have a brother in Victimsville that I believe is not far from you.

Stick around and enjoy the help others can offer and the insanity the rest of us possess.

Welcome Carlos to the mad but very entertaining world of riding! Congrats on the new bike and in these COVID times, it's really one of the best ways to keep your sanity and still be safe. I'm 52 and have 2 bikes ( an '07 VFR 25th Ann. Ed and an '89 Honda GB500) and have been riding for 25+ yrs and I credit it to saving my life after my wife passed away 6 yrs ago. I am a father to 2 great kids and looking to get them riding as well. Dont know anything about Delkevic but anything aftermarket is better than stock as it makes that engine sing. I have 2 Bros on mine and I love it. I've added quite a.few mods myself i.e.heated grips, Puig screen, Pazzo levers, HIDs/LEDs, Denali foglights, Sarget seat, new sprocket/chain, Wave rotors etc. My next big upgrade is the suspension which most guys here will tell you transforms the handling of the bike like night and day. I plan to ride till I no longer can. Best of luck, stay safe and always keep the rubber side down.

20201005_175526.jpg Welcome! I am new here too. I am in mid 50's. Got this 2001 vfr800 this year after 25 years absent from riding motorcycles. Kids are grown and I figured I owe myself to do this before too late to do so. I did ride for about 20 plus years way back when I was young and before I got married.

Thanks for your welcoming words RANDY, hey VictimsVille is exactly where I live in 92395 Zip code. If your brother rides a motorcycle maybe we can ride together in a group sometime, I usually ride my bike on Fridays or Saturdays on my days off. Weather here right now is 70 around LA is over 80 degrees this week. We are enjoying some beatiful weather now. If you will be in town let me know, so we can go ride around Malibu beach. Keep in touch.

He rode several decades ago. He pretty much stopped riding when he had his 850 Commando stolen when it was listed for sale as he was moving from Winnipeg to Buena Park back then in the mid 70s. I haven't seen much of him in a long time. He is retired now and spend a lot of time golfing. But I will keep you in mind for the next time I ride down that way.
