Anybody tried them on there V,tec's, I have them on my Suzuki sv1000s and on this bike they are awesome wet or dry roads .
This makes me want them on my 07 Interceptor but will they work just as good with it? By the way I just love the v,tec it ticks many boxs and is much much more than I originally thought it would be!! dont get me wrong I always new it was going to be good but its just great .
Thanks in advance for any input - bangelo.

Bought my '03 a month or two ago from the original owner with just over 3000 miles on it. So of course, the stock tires were still on the bike. First thing I did was put Michelin tires on ~ No other choice for me. For years I was a die hard Metzler fan (still am), but the Pilot Power tire's are just awesome for sport and/or sport/touring bikes. I think so anyway....they shur grip gooood. :)

life won't be very long with the powers on there. the VFR is a haevy bike and although they will grip the road good it will wear out alot faster- especially the front. I have the new pilot road 2's and they are great but you'll have to wait untill I put some real milage on them to tell you about their longevity. the grip is fantastic though.

I have used dozens of them on my VFR and it is my preferred tire.

I have the PPs on my TL1000R...love 'em. I'll be trying the PP 2CTs on the VFR once it needs a change.

2CTs are not worth the price premium, IMO.

They are terrible on the track because the soft edge compound overheats.

They wear out VERY quickly. When in the mountains, I will wear out a regular Power in 1800-2200 miles (sides are gone, plenty left in the center). I got less than 1500 miles out of the sides of a 2CT.

I wouldn't have expected that. I thought the PP was 100% soft and PP2CT was soft shoulders w/ medium center (for rear tire.). Sounds like 2CT was xsoft shoulder/soft center from your experience? I'll have to take a look at the spec sheet again. Thanks for the info tho.

I just read a bit about the PRs...may do those on the VFR instead of PP.

[edit] I don't track my VFR, or TL for that matter.

The Power2CTs have the same compound in the center as the regular powers, with a softer side compound.

The new Road2CT have a hard center that you may have been thinking of.

I put PPs on mine about 2 months ago. An elbow problem has limited riding since then to about 300 miles total on the set, but so far I'm very happy with them. I do about 90% twisty road riding, so a high grip is more important to me than longevity.

    Thanks for all your comments

They have made my mind up I will fit pp's when the metzlers wear out. As I said in my original post I run them on my suzuki sv1000s k3 and I just about manage 4000 miles from the rear and 5500 up front , I thought I might get a bit more on the V-tec - cheers from bangelo!

when I ride if I dont know where i'm going ? any road seems to take me there.

I'm onto my 4th set of PP's on the previous 6th and now 5th Gen, as you say they are great wet or dry and brilliant in the twistie's...

Having said that will probably go for the Pilot Road 2's when my current PP's wear out, have had all positive feedback from those switched.

the only reason I did not buy a set of Road 2's is because nobody has the fronts in stock... and even the rears are starting to be allocated... ANyone who did have them in stoock was well over the $350 and not including shipping...

With that being said though I think my next set will be a set of Road 2's...

Hi, I have never ran the Michilen tires. I'm reading that some of you have around 5500 miles on them. Was curious, I do mostly freeway driving, with the weekend cruises. Sometimes going on backroads and stuff. But was wondering, how many miles have most of you accumulated before replacing your tires? I usually get around 7-8K per set of tires. Though the first round was with stock tires on my old bike, Honda 599, much lighter than the vfr. My vfr came with Scorpion Brand tires. So far have 6k miles on them still have a lot left. But I did notice they slip a bit in turns on back roads. Mostly the back tire. Was thinking of going with the Pilot Powers, try something that sticks to the road more. Thanks all.

Hi Hondawolf I think with the powers your slipping days would be over but I don't think you will get such high miles ! - bangelo.

Can't go wrong with the Pilot Powers. About the best grip out there for a street tire. How they wear is up to you though.

And haven't had them on the wet yet (not that I plan too). I've got a set of Avon Storm ST's for wet weather.

Darn, with my PP rear nearing replacment time checked the rear tyre and found it flat at 13PSI, bugger picked up a nail in it the day before....No problem rang around the local tyre shops to find all stocks of Road 2's are out for the next 2>3 weeks...:frown:

Oh well a new PP Rear it is then, funny to think of the brilliant PP's as now my 2nd choice.
