Thank you. The only photo I have on this computer is a 2002 RC51 I sold about 6 years ago. I missed a lot of work dealing with a dizziness condition, sad day for me. It started in 83 with a V45 Sabre, then a 1000 Interceptor X2, VF1000r, V45 Interceptor x2, VFR800 X2, then a few V-twins.....SV650 Superbike (race bike) and then the RC. I thought I would be on 2 wheels my whole life. I'm feeling better these days and I'm considering another bike. I like the look of the VFR1200, maybe another 800, or a 6th gen VFR. I'm in my 50s, I'm also considering an ST1300, but not sure if it's sporty enough. I know there are currently a lot of 5th and 6th gen bikes for sale, and some priced well. I'll try to dig up some pics from a dead computer.
Hi Bill Welcome to the Madhouse - Once you own a motorbike you will keep coming back. As for the options you are considering just be aware that 5th and 6th gens are all prone to electrical gremlins, which Honda only fixed by the 7th(1200) and 8th gen(800) models. You can however dodge the bullet on the earlier models by replacing the stock RR with a genuine Shindengen unit as fitted to similar vintage larger Yamaha models - beware plenty of fakes are out on the web. This thread says all you need to know.. https://vfrworld.com/threads/how-to-fix-common-regulator-stator-failures.39277/ If you can run to a 1200 you will find it has a lot more space for taller riders and delivers great performance and a huge grin in equal measures, just remember to keep an eye on the fuel gauge as the tank is not massive.
