I have a bit over 26,000 miles on my 2014 VFR800 and still have the original chain and sprockets. Who has more miles on their VFR and still has the original chain?

23400 on mine and still going strong, have only had to adjust twice, one of them being 3 weeks ago.

Maybe an old thread, but all the same still actual... I also installed a Tutoro, and examined the possibility to install it under the saddle, but I had thought the space under the saddle to be too small. Could you explain where you installed it or, better yet, provide some picture ? Currently, mine is installed right above the passenger's left footpeg holding bar. But I am kind of afraid that some stone could damage it, and it's pretty close to the left side case when installed. So if I could fit it under the saddle in some way, I could reconsider the installation location ...

I guess there may be more space under the cowl than there is under the rear seat, which I took off the day I bought the bike and have never used. I replaced one of the tail unit bolts with a longer one to use as a mount for the Tutoro brackets and mounted the reservoir on it. If you remove the front seat and then put the rear seat back you may be able to get your hand in and feel how much clearance you have, that's what I did.

Thank you, I appreciate you showed the pictures of your installation. Indeed, I had noticed that the cowl left more space (as it's higher), but I wanted to keep the option open to be able to install the seat too. But now I'll still have a second look, who knows I could make it fit anyway the way you did it.

Oh, and by the way, my "mileage" (or should I say "kilometrage") is currently 26000 kms (about 16200 miles), and my chain is still in a good condition. I hope my chain oiler will do its best to make it last a little long(er) ;-)

If I had found there wasn't enough clearance I was going to drill a hole in the plastic base to take the oil tube through and clip it to the underside somehow. That way the reservoir could be mounted much lower, you would only need room to turn the adjuster not fit the bend in the tube as well.
My delivery tube runs along the swingarm using p-clips on the chainguard bolts. I hope this is useful to you!

Just over 17000 miles on mine. Just clean it about every three months with a proper degreaser, and use a chain wax between cleanings. I'm encouraged by some of the numbers the rest of the respondents to this thread have got.

if it's a quality chain (like OEM) rule of thumb is it should last about 20,000 miles, and it gets increasingly funky after that.
