I had a slow lowside in Arkansas this weekend. I'm fine but, I busted the left fairing, scratched the upper cowl and rear cowl. The left slider prevented further damage but it did bend a little. What can I expect from the insurance company? I have a $500 deductible and have only been insured since Dec of last year on a couple other bikes. If it would have been a $200 to $300 over my deductible, I'd do it myself. Any advice is helpful, thanks! Marco
The two things I've learned about insurance companies is 1: they will not lose money, what they pay out will be returned in increased premiums unless you have been a customer for a period of time with no claims and 2: they treat everyone differently, some have good luck and many don't. I think it all depends on the adjuster you have to deal with. Like any other profession, some are good , some are jerks. I usually get the jerks! Unless you think you can find used parts on ebay, I would file a claim if it was my bike and be sure it is fixed back right. Thats why we pay those premiums right? Good luck. I'm gald you were unhurt, plastic's replaceable, bones are a little more difficult.
