looks minty. I am trying to spray a nice quality outdoor folding table. It is on hinges and has a fold out knob on the bottom to lock the table when flat. I think it was powder coated originally, I used grey car primer out of a can and then used some oil based True Value paint I got for free thinned with a little thinner. Long story short, I had problems, I was painting in sunlight and the table was hot. I got bubbles and the paint never really cured.

I bought paint stripper in a can due to laziness, and am stripping off what I sprayed on. I intend now to use Killz primer for oil based paints and plan on using Baer oil based paint through my home depot Husky spray gun with regulator set around 40psi. Its way more frustrating than spraying out the accordian doors I sprayed for my entire home which came out great. Its experimental and a work in progress.

A couple of photos with my VFR800F (2015) amazing how similar they are given that there is 24 years difference in age between them. The 750 was very advanced for its time and still holds its own. Now where can I get a VF1000R?

Quick up date, completely unplanned, secured a VF1000R a couple of weeks back. It departed Cairns for Melbourne yesterday. It will need a bit of work. Looking at a another restoration project. I could not make this up if I tried. [IMG]

was extremely lucky to pick this up. Totally unplanned. Once I get it home and go though it, if you don't mind, I will have a few questions re the restoration. Already looking at the frame, most likely a re-spray rather than powder coating. The previous owner and I have both had hit/miss results with powder coating frames

Nice nice nice. We need lots of pictures. I’ve wanted one of those from the first time I saw one. I can probably speak for many members when I say that I will live vicariously through you on this build.

Thanks a lot for all the photos and detailed steps! The Covid shut down was not a bad thing for restoration projects? Me thinks, not.
The 1000 gets its own thread?
I am so far away from my 96 VFR.... have wandered the deserts of vintage BMW, and modern Kawi.
Ronsk, your bike work gives me hope that my foot will be put upon the rock, and a 3/4 gen VFR will find me. A RWB bird calling high, from the tree line, beyond my running. I must/need wait until it decides I am worthy.
Hope gives everything we do, meaning.
My next VFR will share my burdens, carry me far, and be a reliable partner. His carbs, will be my carbs. We will never part, again.
    This I vow.

I saw a VF1000r for sale on Facebook for $500. No title and missing a lot of bodywork, so I gave it some thought and now it's gone. It was in Oklahoma. Anyone here get it?

Hello Guys, yes I will start a new thread for the VF1000R. The Motocycle was crated and delivered into Cairns Queensland on Friday. It should start the 3000km journey to Melbourne today. It will take a few weeks to arrive, and with Christmas on the door step so I don't think I will get started on it until mid January, but we will see. No doubt when it arrives I will want to get started on it ASAP. I am in the middle of a house renovation and building another double garage (you cannot have too many of those), so I have plenty of other stuff on the go too. I expect it will be a slow restoration, but there will be plenty of photos. Cheers.
