Looking at 05 and he said when he lets off the throttle there's rapping and said the cam tensioner needs replaced. Does that sound right, saw a note where bike made no noise at startup but would rap after a few minutes. Thanks for the help, if that is common at 20,000 miles ,it would be figuring out front or back tensioner.

Normally last about 35k however it is 15years old. There are a couple of write ups on here about it, normally the front goes first. Back is really easy to change. Get the oem Honda version along with a gasket and oil washer and then you can forget for another 15years

Thanks, my other question is can I ride the bike some before changing? If I do buy the bike a couple hundred miles won't hurt right?

lol - it all depends on how bad it is... And I have no way on knowing...

As a side note I rode mine until I got the parts.

Do NOT cheap out on them - order from Honda and then you can forget about it.
