Anyone else have a completely random crack form at the very nose of the upper fairing:eek: ? First the windscreen and now this:frown: . Just like my windscreen it looks like something that happened from accident or tip over, but there's no scratches or paint missing from anywhere on the upper  (it's white- if you scratch the white ones it is black plastic underneath). The dealer is going to call the Domestic Cycle Abuse Squad on me and take out a restraining order so I can't be within 100yds of my beloved VFR:frusty: .
What really kills me is I give buddy grief all the time about how his bike loses parts every time he rides it (how does a helmet lock just FALL OFF!??!?!?), and now he has ammunition to fire back- at my HONDA!

    looks like another warranty claim:doh:

Can't really tell. there's no damage around the crack itself. it's just a crack, no other paint scratches or marks.

Wonder if it was the heated grips?? haha j/k

The tupperware is plastic - could be from a bolt too tight or a stress fracture from what the part was formed......

Sounds like you need to just go buy a Harley if you're going to have parts breaking all the time ;)

Sacralidge! for your punishment you must remove your heated grips for a period no less than one month for speaking such demonic triflery!:brick: J/K
I don't have a pic of it just yet, but look at very bottom of the fairing in between the head lights where there is a line, and that's where the crack is at- it is mostly in that line between the lights

That's one reason that I got my 2nd bike, a Suzuki SV 650, with no fairing.

ABS plastic is pretty tough stuff- and stress cracking is uncommon from the molding process- but it's vulnerable to a wide range of chemicals, acetone and other ketones, methanol, even strong detergents can all wreak havoc with it.

Any chance it could have been exposed to anything like that?

Barring that, a too-tight fastener, or a blunt impact, could account for it. Hit any birds lately?
