95 VFR750 Stator and RR replacement Brissy

Hi All, sorry if this in the wrong place. After 150' kms and 18yrs, my RR and Stator are starting to go. Done a ton of research, and now that I know what I want, can't seem to find it.

Not sure on the brand of stator (recommendations?) but am looking for a non-stator killer like the Shindengen SH847. Located north of brissy, rung a few motorbike mobs, and had a few tell me that they've never heard of the brand.

Little confused now. Is there an Aussie Series type RR that I can use that's similar to SH847, or are these a unicorn that only overseas are allowed to have. TIA

 

Shindengen are a Japanese manufacturer that supplies RR to practically all the major companies.

The SH designation means it is a Shunt-type RR, not a more modern MOSFET type which would have a longer life and runs cooler, and uses the FH designation.

You might have convince me a little more on the SH designation. You are correct that the FH Mosfet ones run cooler only because of how the excess power is shunted to earth instead of back into the stator, but technically it still is a shunt type RR.

I've spent the last 2 days researching RR's and SH775 and SH847 are both Series Type RR's. Does what the Mosfet does, just more efficiently .

I looked at their website as well... let me know if your able to find the above models listed anywhere.

Irrespectively, is there still anywhere in Aus that I can get them, or an alternative facsimile?

 

There's almost nothing oem about my bike these days, plus i got enough space to put in 2 of the SH847......Just need to find one, and a reputable stator. Bit hesitant on the ebay ones.

 

Just purchased the rr from roadster cycle. Just trying to work out where to get the stator now.

As for the Viffer....

 

I had the impression that Shindengen RRs were standard fit on several larger CC Yamaha models of similar era. If you are struggling to source a suitable RR it might be worth a call to a dealer in Brisbane to see what they carry.

 

I've got the rr coming... Need a stator now.

Kinda leaning towards the wemoto one... not sure why, maybe because of all the quality items that are on ebay these days.

Anyone had experiences with electrex or forseti stators? Or they all the same, coming from the same factory...
