2005 vfr800 clutch slave cylinder gasket

Hi all members,

I recently wanted to change the countershaft sprocket and have the following questions:

1. Do i need to remove the clutch slave cylinder in order to remove the sprocket cover?
2. If yes, i want to change the slave cylinder gasket. I can not find anywhere online to purchase this, anyone has any idea where I can order this gasket?

I'm just changing the chain and sprockets and noticed the clutch slave cylinder gasket tore a bit when I was removing it, how critical is it? hate to have to wait now to order a new one before I can get back on the road.

 

Gasket? What gasket? There's nothing really to be sealed there just avoids metal to metal contact.

 

Service Honda; 22862-MGJ-D00. This is the latest part number.

 

no need to remove slave from cover. consult the service manual to find exactly which bolt holds the slave to cover so u don't remove it, and be very careful not to over-tighten bolts.

 

I used some gasket silicone when refitting the slave, the little gasket is only there to keep dirt out going by what I've read, amazingly I think this is the first time the chain and sprockets have been changed on this bike, 21 years old!! 20,500 miles done.
