Hi, I have fitted a Honda Akrapovic Titanium Exhaust Part # 08F88-MJM-917 to my Gen 8. Has anyone removed the DB killer. My understanding is that the Honda Exhaust has it welded in. Was looking for an option to be able to remove and re-install the DB killer as required. Lastly, how much louder does it make the exhaust. Would like the bike to be a bit louder but not over the top…. IMG_2679.jpeg IMG_2864.jpeg

Look at the rail of the exhaust. You will see a tube and a small bolt with a tack weld file that weld off remove bolt pull out tube.

I think the Honda Akrapovic version (black sticker) is welded in. The Akrapovic after market version (yellow sticker) has a bolt. No need to tell me I brought the wrong one......

    no worries, so I
    1. drill out the pop rivets
    2. remove the end cap
    3. drill out the weld
    4. Drill a hole though the DB hiller and exhaust rail
    5. install a self tapping 8mm bolt
Any idea of how much louder the bike gets?
I would not like to upset the neighbours.

The design has changed recently so you can’t remove the dB killer without destroying the can

No Bolt.jpg My exhaust is different to yours in the photo, it does not have a bolt, and the DB killer is not recessed where yours has the bolt fitted. From a bit of google searching, I believe the DB killer in this type of Honda Akrapovic Exhaust does not have a bolt and the DB killer is welded in...The Exhaust I have has the Part # 08F88-MJM-917.

I thought you may have been able to remove the end cap and grind off/drill out the welds? If that's not possible, it can stay as it is. Thanks for the post
