My 2014 suddenly died on the way to work last week. The engine loses all power and the check engine light comes on. The starter will turn the engine over but there is no sound from the fuel pump.
I took it to a dealer, they replaced the battery (which was the original) and the FI1 fuse, which had blown.
They gave it back to me, and it ran fine on a test ride. Today, the same 10a FI1 fuse blew twice on me. The second time, it was definitely as I hit a sharp bump.
Any ideas on what could Be going wrong? Any particular wires to check for shorts?

Sounds like you have something pinched. I would start by inspecting the harness layout for something that would be susceptible to being pinched.

    Hey guys,
I have the same problem with my '14 RC79. If I know well, FI1 is for injection system and maybe mainshaft senzors or something like that. It can be a contact problem on wires. I'll try to disconnect all wires connected to injection system for first and reconnect them after using contact spray. If there are no any other issues, it's gonna help.
    I'll let you know.

Thanks. Mine is back at the shop now.
Before that, I took off all the fairings, lifted the fuel tank, removed the airbox and checked every wire I could see for breaks or shorts. I couldn’t find anything.
The wiring diagram shows the FI1 fuse is connected directly to the evap purge solenoid and a junction box which looks like is connected to 8 other things.

Hey guys, do you have any information about solution?
I had quickshifter installed on my bike and removed it (don't know why, maybe I had a feeling I have to remove it) and now it looks okay...
I made few km-s for test and didn't blew the fuse. I'll make longer run on weekend to be sure quickshifter was the problem.

I got it back last week. The dealer said they took the fairings off and jiggled wires until they found one that would make it blow every time. They peeled that one back and re-wrapped it. They didn’t tell me which specific wire and I didn’t think to ask them, I was in a hurry when I picked it up anyway.
When they gave it back they really didn’t seem very confident, but it has been trouble-free for a week despite me deliberately hitting bumps and trying to make it fail.
