Would you please help me with any tips for reassembling a speedometer/odometer/tripmeter?

I've put a light amount of 3-in-1 oil on all of the gears and shafts. I'll check gaskets/seals on re-assembly, to keep water out.

The odometer on mine has been stuck since I bought it about 5 weeks ago. I suspect the corrosion on the odometer shaft, which you can see right above the trip-meter shaft.

There was a spare on ebay, so I bought it, thinking I could assemble one working unit from the two.

its usually the cable that has the problems... all my speedo issues have been caused by them..

Thanks for the cable reminder. I forgot to say I checked the cable. It's not broken. It spins freely.

Put the cable into the speedo, connect other end in a Drill, spin it up, does the speedo move?
