Personally, I noticed a negative difference in harshness on my 08 going to a solid sprocket when i installed a chain kit. Now that I have a FactoryPro star kit and a 5th gen Oberon slave ready to go in I've ordered a JT rubber damped sprocket as well. Hopefully all goes. Smoooth! Running 16t/45t btw. Will advise.

The front sprockets aren't actually "damped" like a rear hub. It just has rubber vulcanized to it to reduce noise transmitting from the counter shaft.

I stand corrected in my understanding then, thank you. I was under the impression that it was an inner and outer 2 piece with rubber in between.

Still all gain no loss replacing it tho. Quiet drivetrain is good as far as I'm concerned.

imo, the rubber does reduce noise and vibration.

I've not noticed any difference between rubber and no-rubber.
