    Hello,

I bought a 5th gen VFR800 last year and a few weeks ago the lcd panel stopped displaying. It randomly came back alive one ride but has since been dead to the world since. I checked and it does appear to be receiving power.

Is it now a replacement job? And if so how does this affect the odometer reading?

    Thank you

It sounds like the pcb has corroded, a common problem on a 5th gen. You need to take it off and , using a multimeter , find where it has corroded and solder a jumper wire to bridge the gap. A p.o. has done this on mine ,I saw the wire when changing the dash lights. The odometer will be fine.
There was a great step by step guide on the UK vfr site. Maybe google it
