Does anyone know the size of the damper retaining bolt for the 5th gen stock forks? I'm planning to order titanium counterparts for the fork pinch bolts and may aswell do those 2 aswell.. and I don't really fancy taking them out just to have to re fill my fork oil a second time... I know it's an m6 I just need the length, if I was to guess id say it was m6x40, I just don't wanna overshoot and possibly cause problems with the damper rod, tho at a guess I wouldn't cause any issue with a slightly longer bolt

Any help is much appreciated :)

    #25 - Socket, Bolt - 8x27
    #36 - Washer, Special (8mm) (Showa)

Honda lists 98% of their bolt sizes on the their parts fiche. I use CMSNL or Service Honda's websites for the fiche.

In addition to the thread length, you need to use a shallow bolt head in that location, otherwise I believe you will foul the axle.

The standard head height for an M8 socket cap bolt is 8 mm. You will also find that it is going to be difficult to locate an 8mm ti socket cap bolt that is 27mm in length, they typically come in increments of 5mm. So your choices are going to be 25mm or 30mm. I would also be concerned about disimilar metals in this application. You are going to need to Loctite those in with Loctite blue which might mitigate this some. I do love me some ti hardware, but I personally wouldn't use it in that location.

Some very good points to consider, when I do get a little closer to doing that, may be worth like your saying, to run a new hss bolt instead depending on the condition of the original.
