After about 2 to 3 hours my rump really starts bothering me. Are after market seats like corbins etc really helpful big difference or just a little better? I raised my clip on's up on the fork about an half inch maybe a little more that helped my wrists on longer rides. Any big difference anyone has with after market seats? Thanks Mike

Aftermarket seats are well worth the money - I like corbins - some guys here like the sargets. For the long haul its the way to go..

Biggest factor a lot of the time is you need to get your butt into shape..3 hr ride is just getting started, wont do the job for me..I always find it takes me a good all day ride which causes me some discomfort and after that i am set for the summer, not counting any long breaks..I have always found it the same, corbin or otherwise. Mind you some seats will never be comfortable for some people..me included..luckily for me i have no problem with the stockers on the vfr and sold my aftermarket seats.

Basically just a tip that there is no guarantee any of them will be perfect for you right away...

    good luck!!

Yes aftermarket seats work. I've had both Corbin and Sargent and they both worked very well.

I agree with nitronorth. A long ride will "burn in" your butt burn and after that you can go longer with less discomfort. Bicycle shorts also help; especially in warmer temps.

I just did a 10.5 hour day (only 525miles tho') on a stock vtec seat with a sargent foam insert I put in. No burn until the final hour but the last fuel stop was enough to stop it.

they are better than stock for sure! just gone about 500 miles total with my new sargent, pricey but i think it was money well spent. have to wait till spring for 10 hr ride to find out how good it really is.

I recently bought a Corbin and find it allows me to ride about twice the distance I could with the stock seat before needing a break. I'm very pleased with mine which I got on ebay. I've read several threads on here about guys who have had major problems with Corbin's "customer service" (or lack of).
