Hey. I'm about four weeks inti a '99 5th gen 50th Anniversary edition VFR. If corona doesn't stop me I'm off touring for a month in August so time to find an aftermarket seat and some luggage. Based in Dublin, up Cork
Welcome Big Jimmy! Yeah, I'm sure a bunch of us are just waiting for that word that the coast is clear and we'll be off on similar adventures. Hopefully, you can photograph or video your journey and document them on this forum. In the mean time have few pints and stay healthy! Slainte!
Welcome Jimmy! I'd be interested in some pics of the Anniversary Edition. A buddy and I are working on a paint scheme, wondering what yours looks like. Thanks.
I like your style man. Might need to settle for a few cans as the pubs are closed here but thanks for moral support. Yeah if the trip gets off the ground I'll definitely throw up a few pics
Hey. Yeah no worries. Dark here now so I'll try get a few pics in the morning and stick them up. It's the half red half silver paint scheme on her. Not sure if it looks crashed or not but I like it.
Welcome here Jimmy and stay awhile. You should really look forward to your tour this Summer. The VFR is a tremendous bike to tour on. Looking forward to pics since its been a Long F-Ing Winter. Enjoy that sweet VFR.
Cheers Laker. I am, just have the fingers crossed that travel is all systems go come August. I haven't done any long trips on her yet but definitely seems like a great machine.
Hey, got a few pics of the paint job but I can't post them. I presume I need more posts before I can upload photos or something like that. By the way I'm trying to find a luggage setup to do me for touring so if anyone has any suggestions for a 5th Generation I'd appreciate it.
I have a Kriega dry bag on my eighth gen and highly recommend them. I only have a single US 30 bag but you can attach the various sizes to each other to suit your needs. 100% waterproof, and very secure.
Hi Jimmy. I use Coretec soft luggage. Its good quality and all snaps together and looks good. The chicks love it! (Not true, I'm an old VFR guy)
