Bought my 85 700 interceptor brand new put 30k on it including a trip across country. It sat for 10 years at one point and got it going again at one point for a season about 15 years ago. Developed a carb leak or something and put it away again. Did it the right time this time drained gas etc... since then moved on to goldwings bit going to try and resurrect during this virus lock in. Wish me luck any and all resources are appreciated.

    Good luck with the revival.
It's hard to understand how someone can let a bike sit for years without riding it. Now I find that I am having to consider cancelling my insurance as I am effectively laid off for the next 2 months and it is one of the toys I can't afford to enjoy. It will be cleaned and stored and maybe it could be for a lot longer than I plan, all of a sudden it might be a few years too.

Best of luck with getting this beauty up and running! I just purchased an ‘83 VF750F with 2k miles on it that had sat since at least 1990. With a little time(which we have thanks to corona) and patience, she is ripping up the streets again like it was meant to. Keep posting your progress!

Add kids and 3 other bikes to the mix and some things get left behind. I went through a few phases, British, Italian & German ( can you guess the brands) but never let this one go since it was my first street bike and only means of transportation for a while.

Can you sell the kids on ebay or would you have to pay someone to take them away, LOL.

Here ya go- filled cylinders with oil and cleaned brake and clutch reservoirs. Took front brakes apart and got the crud out of the calipers. Cant wait to hear it turn over tomorrow -fingers crossed. [IMG][IMG]
