Just curious. How old are you? I am turning 65 this summer. Do you think you are old enough to adopt me and I can help keep those running and exercised?

I agree, thought about going out and coming home without stopping, but it would be my luck that something happen and l would have to interact with people. I am 75, can’t take that risk.

    My thinking as well.

I'm young, fit and healthy enough to not be in the risk group. Should I get sick, it will most likely be no more than a few days of mild discomfort.
But many are not so lucky. The elderly and people with existing health issues have a much harder time dealing with this kind of thing. And it's people not taking it serious, that get them sick.

As I see it, we are all responsible for our people and country. If a few weeks of boredom is too high a price to pay, it's time to reconsider ones priorities.

"I buy bikes and motorcycles, my wife is cool with that even before we got married."

    Keeper.
Many women go along with something before the ceremony, then bring on the change afterwards. Most important here is that she is still OK with your hobby.

And, I paid a bit more for my Y2K 4 years ago..... But it had under 10K, one owner, yadda yadda.

Wife & I escaped NYC metro wince WED this week, to my rural PA home that have far less population density and protected open space just 1/2 mile from my driveway.
I'm 45, I have a close friend who is just 2 years younger than me; ran two marathons last year, regularly walks/jogs 15 miles a week; got infected with COVID-19, 10 days ago.
He's now in ICU for four days now, developed severe bronchitis & upper respiratory infections.. unsure whether he will recover.

Just received news that my friend was intubated, on ventilator this afternoon.

Yes to all of above. Also. Who knows how long we could be infectious before we start displaying of feeling symptoms of this damned illness. It is bad enough that there are some people out there who have no choice than to be out in the public, not always able to take precautionary measures. So lets lessen the chances even more, so that those who cannot avoid possible contact, are less exposed and have the ability to receive treatment should they become infected themselves.

Dude, I saw so many bikes on the road today (3/21/20) most were cruising PCH probably with no destination other than riding.

We all are at risk of getting it... young and healthy just means you are less likely to die from it. World-wide scramble for ventilators because of the pneumonia that sets in. If we do our best to do social distancing and hygiene, best thing we can do.

I managed to get out today, by myself. Few other bikes, stayed on the back roads. Front tire is getting worn and cheap Chinese right angle valve still leaks. Tire pressure was down to 5 lbs.!! Doesn’t turn well like that, had to turn the bike around to get the front close to car to use my portable pump. This time I parked it nose out.

Went for a sneaky, late night ride.
Alone on deserted roads, so no quarantine issues.

First time I had chance to properly check out the new gearing (16/45). It pulls!
Had a unintentional power wheelie in 2nd gear. Just from pulling away normally from a stop.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the gearing. Will definitely swap to 18/43 for touring, but for general riding, the lower gearing feels great.
And since the SpeedoHealer can store 2 separate calibration profiles and sprockets can be swapped without removing the chain, going back and forth will be easy.

In Adelaide Aust we are still( well most of us) able to go to work, so getting to ride every day. Last night I did the Fork Oil change which went reasonably well. A bit of mucking around getting the compression adjuster working to full range on the first fork. I shouldn't have moved the lock nut... The Fender was a bitch of a job removing and re-fitting though.

Wifey is a key worker on the frontline. She works in a care home and the virus hit, thanks to someone getting released from hospital, coming back to the home and interacting closely with a couple of other residents. Most have Alzheimer's so not a lot you can do to make them stick to the rules. You can't lock them in their rooms.
As you can imagine, the sanitisation measures currently under force in the tinkicker house are something to behold.
I worry for the missus going to that place, but it has to be done.

Meanwhile, since all the buses have been taken off the road, none of them need new engines, therefore I'm at home pottering around the garden and going round the house with a vacuum cleaner.

Only thing I have done to the VFR lately was yesterday, I went in the shed and hooked up the battery charger to it. It's about a month since I last rode it.
Thank the Lord I routinely use fuel stabilizer for winter layups and my stock of emergency generator fuel. She has only ever had stabilized fuel through her this year.

Bought a new battery yesterday. Weather was beautiful so checked the battery that was on the Battery Tender,
and it showed 12.4 V, put in the bike, got my gear on, turned the key, and nothing. Checked the batter under
load, 0V. So off to Wally World for a new battery. $65 and I'm ready to roll. The last one, also from Wally World
lasted 5+ years, so I'm pretty happy with that.

I didn't realize it was that old until I checked my maintenance records.

Not worried about the virus since I had my go around with it back in December/January. No fun, but over it in a couple weeks.

FJ12, they are looking for recovered folks like you to donate some blood plasma as it may help others, maybe check in your area. Simple as giving blood.

I would, but so far there is no reliable test to determine if you've actually had the virus. Last time I
checked there was only one test that the FDA approved to test for previous infection by the virus. And
it only become available early this month. They say the other tests are unreliable. This test is supposed
to be quick, around 15 minutes, and accurate.

I'm convinced I had it, along with a couple other people in the family, and a nephew who lives about
50 miles away. He was sick in November/December, along with a bunch of nursing home residents
with severe upper respiratory infections that hadn't been seen before. My coughing was so bad that my
doctor had X-rays taken for pneumonia. Negative for pneumonia and negative when tested for Flu. But
that coughing was about the worst I've experienced. Dry cough that just wouldn't quit. Like nothing I've
    experienced before.

IMO this virus has been in the US much longer than just a couple of months. Being around this long
may help explain why the amazingly fast spread, really isn't all that amazing. It's had lots of time to
spread. And I would expect the people who would test positive is much, much higher than what the
tests are showing, since they don't have enough tests to check most people. Around here they are only
checking people who are really sick, not people who are showing symptoms, but aren't seriously ill.

Come to think of it, I was sick about 1 1/2 years ago for ten days.
Upper respiratory and coughed straight for 10 days, talk about sore stomach muscles.
You’re probably right about it bein around much longer then the say.
