I have a 1991 750 and it fills my garage with gas fumes. I can find no shut off valve in my owners manual for the gas and wondered if this is just something that happens with VFR's? Or do you have to twist the "idle adjust knob" in one direction? I'm worried that'll screw up my starts though. Any advice?

Thank you sir. Dunno why that's not listed in my owner's manual. Wouldn't ya' know, that as I poked around down there, I noticed the real cause of the smell....my number one and four carburetors appear to be leaking a bit. Yikes. Looks like it's time to take it into the shop

Are they leaking or is the floats sticking ?? If you can turn the gas off , do it because a sticking float can pour excess gas into the engine and fill the crankcase making the oil very thin and ruin the engine..

Judging from the moisture on the outside, I would say they are leaking. Not sure how to tell if the float is sticking. It drives just fine so I am guessing it's just a leak. I'm am turning the fuel off regardless though. Any hints as to how I could tell if the float is stuck?

if it is running fine then the floats sound as if they are working properly. wipe the moisture off the carbs and see if it comes back.
