I had to get something from the back of the garage and the bike was in the way. Moved the snowblower out and cleared a path in snow and rolled the bike out. Haven't started it since probably November sometime but I keep it on the battery tender. It started first time and purred like a kitten... a big kitten maybe.
As it was sitting there idling some friends showed up, told them I was getting ready to go for a ride if they could help me balance to the road I would probably be fine. They actually believed me and told me that I was crazy! I got on and rode it 15 feet back into the garage then shut it off.
Not a great ride but a ride non the less. I wish I had as much room in my garage as Anne Marie does.

I have about three quarters of a double garage when the woodworking machinery is put away. Nice to have elbow space for when you are going to do some work on the ride.

Well. last night I finally got around to ordering up a set of EBC rotors for the front. Also the right portions of dinabeads to balance the tires. I have to remove the r=front wheel and get it in to be re-powdered. Last time I did that, I think I made a mistake and should have masked off the area where the rotors go on. Because I did not, I think I warped the original rotors to the bike. But it is time for new rotors anyway. There are over 220.000 km on the originals.

Come Tuesday, I will order up some OEM brake pads for the front and will put new bolts on the rotors as recommended. I think my rear rotor and pads are fine for quite a while yet.

That is so sad... hope the snow moves out soon and you can actually ride ride.

The garage space is nice, and since I don't need much anyway, neither does garage or moto. Just the basics. Makes things easier.

That must equate to 200K miles. I don't think I will live that long considering the low miles I ride these days. No more R3 every second year for me to do a butt buster getting to.

I haven't had a VFR in a little over three years since I got rear-ended at the end of 2016, and in about five hours my garage will be empty of all the VFR parts I've held onto since then that I held onto just in case I bought another. That hasn't happened and I found someone who wants the majority of what I have left, and I'm going to try to push it all onto him if he has space to take it. If not, I still at least have a couple ads up here and might make a few dollars more if I get lucky.

Started the tear down process yesterday in anticipation of the slew of new parts arriving.

    Stuff in route:
    Sebspeed windowed clutch cover
    Sebspeed rear set adapter
929/954 adjustable reverse shift rear sets
CFRacing carbon fiber lateral panels, dash surround, chain guard, front fender
    Delkevic catless full system
EBC wave front wave rotors w/pads
    Clear Puig double bubble screen

    Stuff already here:
    8 spoke rear wheel
CF Racing carbon fiber inner panels, lower V
    EBC rear disc w/pads
Clutch kit w/basket bearing (found that was the reason for my overly noisy clutch)
Ebay raw white fairing kit (still havent decided on paint yet)

Bike is going to go thru a very large transformation. I have a bunch of parts going to powder as soon a Sebastions clutch cover shows up. Black for most of the parts and white for the wheels. Still waiting on a few small parts to arrive and I'll start the rebuild.

Bike had what I felt like was more than normal noise from the clutch when in neutral and the lever not engaged. I opened it up to have a look in anticipation of Sebs windowed cover coming and found the clutch itself wasnt really in bad shape. Once I got the discs all out and turn the basket to check for play I realized it in fact had some. So a new bearing was ordered. I went ahead and did a clutch kit with 20% heavier springs as well. Since in gonna powder coat the pressure plate I just ordered a new one (at 30 bucks why not) the basket itself was fine. At 62k miles on the clock the grooving was very minimal which leads me to believe it's been replaced at some point in its life.

Once everything is here and I start the rebuild I'll start an actual build thread

Well got everything completed yesterday! Exhaust, gear indicator, Corbin seat on and quad lock installed! She’s looking pretty good for a 16 year old bike! Really like the quad lock. Holds the phone up only about a qtr inch from the tank laying flat! 90mph and no signs of movement

My gawd! Are those all yours? You are a bike hoarder in need of intervention. I am more than happy to help out. I can bring my truck and my pair of Canyon Carvers. I will rid you of that yellow 5th gen? or was that a fourth?

Nice. More than one for each day of the week, just in case one is down for service.

    Ride and Be Happy!
(weather not that nice here in Michigan)

Seems to me that riding solo on a motorcycle equates to a good example of "Social Distancing"?

It's an addiction, some people smoke cigarettes, drink, some do drugs, some gamble.. I buy bikes and motorcycles, my wife is cool with that even before we got married.

Most of them pictured are under $3k purchases, some under $2k, wth the exception of the BMW R1200S being over $6k.
The VFR is a 2000 model, bought in NOV 2017 with 16k miles for $2.5k.

All of them rock solid bikes, require minimal maintenance, even when operated on regular basis.
I do most maintenance myself, bikes are sold before they need services at dealers; I rotate the stock before major services are required.
