New to the V. And this forum

Hey guys. Just picked up my first Honda 2 days ago. A pristine condition 5th gen in Red. Not too many of them in India, so I was lucky to find one in this condition. Just don't ask how much I paid!

12,000 km on the clock. Things I need to sort out right now are the head bearings and tyres (suggestions?). I have read up on the RR issue's I should expect to face, especially here in the heat. I plan on attaching the small PC fan to help matters.

Looking to download the service manual now. any links? the one's I found here don't seem to be working or lead to dead files.

wow. nice bike. Looks to be in perfect shape. Tires I just put on are Michelin Pilots. Love 'em.

What's wrong with your head bearings? Loose? Worn??

I can photocopy service manual pages relating to the steering head if you like.

Will try tightening them to see if it solves the problem, but I have a feeling I would need to replace them. Bad roads here do take their toll on the bearings.

I have already ordered a clymer from amazon. However it takes a bit of time for it to reach me here, so I thought I'd get a jump start on this!

Also, just noticed something on the ride to work today. After parking the bike, I noticed a ticking sound. Something I would assume is the tappets. However, being new to the cam gears, is this something normal on the viffer or do I need to check the clearances. This only happened after the bike was hot.
