I have been tinkering with the bike since I got it given to me. Had a no fire issue then as well but was told the history and they believed they had the timing off a tooth. Took it all apart and reset the timing. Got it all put back together and same thing. I have spark, compression and fuel but not even a hiccup or a cough. I even tried using starting spray and still nothing. Spark seems a little weak since it’s bright orange instead of blue. What can I do to strengthen the spark? It’s a winter project and won’t even be a daily so not a huge rush. Just figure I would throw this out there while I think on it.

Got it for free so even throwing a $500 engine in isn’t going to bother me any but it seems like everything is there so I’m not to that hurdle yet.

Is the battery good? Like 12.6v and up?

Is the fuel pump priming when you turn the key?

You could clean up all grounds and battery connections.

    Using new sparkplugs?

If you have all 3 spark fuel compression, then she should at least cough.

It has a new battery but I’m not sure if the cca is as high as it should be but it spins over decently enough. I just checked spark on all 4 again and it’s there an bright just not blue. I would think that even if there was an issue I’m not seeing yet it would at least burp or cough. Don’t know what a healthy motor on these sound like never been around one but usually if you have air fuel and spark it at least tries to fire.

Have you pulled the plugs after trying to start to see if they are wet with fuel?

Yes they seem to be wet. Wouldn’t even fire when spraying starting fluid in. Yesterday I even dribbled some gas down the throat of each throttle body and nothing as well. I have been waiting a good amount of times in between firing so I don’t flood it out

    Weird.

Did you get numbers from your compression check?

I would start all over.... dry as possible. Remove plugs, dry them, let things air out (or blow air into the plug holes to dry whatever's in there. Seems you have fuel if (the pump's running) the plugs are wet. Dumping more into the TB's is maybe making it worse. I'd use caution with starting fluid....
Start with clean connections and grounds. Ensure fuel pump is priming up and you actually have enough fuel in the tank (1/4+).
Spark may be weak from using more energy cranking.... use a booster battery as well so the ignition parts have enough juice. It should spin a little faster too, and that may be enough to do it. Check plugs again, if wet, then maybe a small shot of starting fluid.

Someone already mentioned compression, but did you measure the compression psi?
I think you will need around 90psi to fire. If you have a good seal you should see better than 120.
The higher the compression the better the atomization of the fuel/ air mixture.
Liquid gasoline is much harder to light on fire than evaporated gasoline.

Mine would not start at all last year. It would turn on, fuel pump would prime and nothing. Stuck in a battery from a VFR1200. Same size dimensions, just slightly bigger ETZ14S. Never had an issue since.

If everything else checks out - pulse generator or ECM output.
