Hey guys, I have a 4th gen that has leaky forks, and a bent front wheel. The real issue is the wheel, I can fix the forks. Problem is that I cannot find a 4th gen front wheel for sale, only 3rd and 5th which from my research do not fit with out modification. Of course I could do the modifications but things such as that sketch me out due to a previous accident due to front wheel issues on a different bike. I have looked into a front end swap but I simply don't have the money to buy a 929/954 front end and put the extra money into fork adjustments/modifications for the height clearance.

My question is: where can I find a front wheel/ what other wheels fit that others have swapped with little modification/ does any one have a wheel they can sell me?

I understand its kind of silly to be afraid of riding on a wheel that had to be modified, its just that it is one of those things that would make me feel unconfident about the bike. Im open to swapping the front end to something that needs no-to little work and money. Ill post pictures later as the bike is at a friends

You can get the rim repaired if you can't find one.

I think a VTR wheel will work for you.. .But also, check with Sebspeed on VFRD and he has a facebook page. Seb is kind of a guru on stuff like this. Chances are he will have an extra wheel that would work for you.

I have a 4th gen wheel in my 3rd gen. Fits with no problem, so a 3rd gen. wheel should fit a 4th gen.
You need the brake discs from a 3rd gen also. They are not the floating kind, like the 4th gen. though.
I have a complete 3rd gen. wheel available. PM me for more info.

Hey guys thanks for the replies, I'll check out the provided sources, and maybe send out a pm or two. As for straightening the wheel, I was quoted at least 200$ so Ill be weighing my options.

How bad is the wheel? If it only had a hairlipped outer rim, you can heat it a bit and tap it true with a hard plastic mallet.

any frond end hit hard enough to bend a wheel probably flat-spotted the steering head bearings, which may need replacing.
