Not looking to get any money back. Just cancelling the account. I want to hear their answer first as I am a reasonable person. Then, I'll take it from there.

What a bunch of incompetent freaks of humanity to attempt to do business by extortion. All you have to do is call your credit card company and tell them not to pay that charge any longer. Doing that has never failed me. "Business arrogance" is another term for stupidity.

So far I haven't heard anything back. This is a test for them. They have completely failed on all accounts. I've already stopped recurring payments through my PayPal, so come February 27th, they will not be able to draft. Maybe they'll contact me then. Hahaha! ..... Idiots.

I just received this response. Let me preface this with the fact that there is no way for the subscriber to turn off automatic renewal once it's set. But like I mentioned before, I did cancel the recurring payment through my PayPal account where it was linked. As well, this email reply is basically informing me that I "will lose the benefits that came with [my] subscription." Yeah, b-e-n-e-f-i-t-s. LOL! What would those be as of the past few months? Let's see - threats to upgrade, threats to spend more money, major server outages, lost pics, blurred images, non-functional thumbnails, poor customer service, etc = BLACKMAIL AND EXTORTION.

I've had my account for 10 years as of February. Membership SHOULD have it's privileges. Better customer service would be to keep their existing customers happy with minimal change and start off the "new" plans and increased pricing with new members. Grandfather in the faithful and build marketing prospects.

One more thing is obvious in that I don't even want the "free" account. Think about that - FREE. Bull. You know it will be plastered with threatening ads, account limitations and unreliable service in general.

To be fair - as an EX-Photobucket user, thats a pretty good response to you from them. It is on point with nothing extraneous..

    BUT

Still run away as fast as possible - lol

I had been paying them a small pittance for a few more priviledges of posting..... until they started their antics... they are now at an all time low as far as I'm concerned... Went with SmugMug, pay a fee, was started by motorcyclists and it may still be run by them. Nothing is for free, it if is you're likely going to have some issues.......... worth paying a few bucks for peace of mind.
