I've installed YSS on a VF1000R and VF1000F. I have a fair amount of miles on the 1000R. It appears well made when inspecting it and performs nicely on the road. Overall a nice shock upgrade at a reasonable price. I am very pleased.
YSS are a well respected suspension parts manufacturer based in Thailand for well over 30 years. They supply parts to many top flight motorcycle race teams around the world. They also make superb quality and yet affordable adjustable upgrades to the stock suspensions installed on many motorbikes including the standard Street Triple 675 models which apart from pre-load sadly Triumph decided did not deserve the ability to properly adjust the rear suspension to match rider weights/riding styles. If there is a suitable YSS rear shock - it should be a good choice. Alternatively as you are Stateside and not hit by massive shipping and taxes you may want to discuss the options with Jamie Daugherty - who is on this forum or just check out his website www.daughertymotorsports.com.
