    Connectors melt because of contact resistance, either from corrosion or contacts are not rated for the current. I see no specifications for current carrying capacity, pins look small, so only good for low current applications.

    MetriPack connectors are good stuff and I have used them myself. If you are referring to the R/R to stator connection, current art is to eliminate the physical connection totally an replace with either direct solder together or a double overlap butt connection....
    I have used the MetriPack 630s in that spot and they do work well for that application too. (Rated 42amps)

    As a btw, ---- www.cycleterminal.com is a great source for motorcycle wiring needs and will be cheaper too.
