I always wanted to ride one of the tiny Apes at the track.

Currently my 01 VFR800 is my track weapon. It’s been modified quite a bit but is by no means a race ready bike. Still I enjoy riding it at the track, although after having ridden both an R3 and a KTM RC390 at the track I’m thinking about getting something similar just for fun.

Raced an RS125 for one round (eligible for my class) while I swapped an engine on the VF500F race bike. Mother fucker was hard wired to my brain, doing shit the same moment I thought it. Better than one finger brakes. Here's my two race bikes. Still have the 500.

yes, I built it myself. Loosely based on a Yamaha TRX850 frame design, but to fit an MT09 engine.

My track bike is a 2014 R6 I just picked up earlier this year. It has a nice set of suspension and brake upgrades, but engine and exhaust are stock. I've been to Auto Club Speedway twice, and Chuckwalla once so far, and already improved my PB from the 675R times. The R6's handling is on another planet compared to anything else I've ridden, and while that peaky little engine would suck on the street, it is right at home on the track.

R6's are very nice track bikes. The only trick is to run them at super high rpm's all the time. LDH on here has one that is a company Kyle racing bike that has every upgrade with the best parts on the planet. And then he bought one for his wife too. Sure on fast tracks they run out of legs but in the turns they are awesome. He's moving back to Florida sometime next year near Daytona and I want a few laps on the built R6.

    PM sent!
I am leaving the engine and exhaust stock for now due to noise restrictions at a track I plan to visit next year, but I'd love to know more about the best parts on the planet. I may look to mod the engine after next year. Right now, my technique is the main thing holding me back, so I try to improve that. I could have 15 more HP, and not see my time impr0ve one bit. I'm still pretty slow, but I'm also relatively new to the track too.

    Nice bikes.

Capt the 125 is a bike not to take for granted. My CCS class had built Honda Hawks, Ducati,Built FZR400. I raced Jerry Wood on a Ducati Supermono... That bike was a monster.

I got a chance to ride the 99 WERA 24hr race at Willow Springs for GPTech on a CBR F3. Lets say it took a bit to get use to after being on a 4 stroke bike.

My next track bike Honda NSF250r

The last 10 years the trackbike was an ‘06 GSXR1000. this year will be a ‘94VFR750. New suspension fromJamie front and rear. Steady as a rock.

    That's spectacular bike.

I did quite a few track days on a 01 CBR600, then my street RC51, then raced a 1st gen SV650 Superbike with WERA. Been thinking about going to the track again, I have the fever!

Respect to everybody that races. I carried a CMRA license for a couple of years and raced their circuit. There are some talented riders out there. A great group of people to be sure. Always available to offer a helping hand. I was fortunate to race with a 4 time Daytona 200 champion. Our home track is Hallett Raceway in OK. I’m 61 now and am slowing way down but the knowledge gained from racing tops everything. What a great experience. If any of you riders out there on on the fence about racing, sign up for some trackdays. You won’t regret it. Me on my 06 GSXR1000 turn 9 Hallett, OK
I will say this though, once you’ve started trackdays, going to races as a spectator won’t cut it anymore. All you can think about watching the races are, “I wish I was out there!”

I agree, racing or even track days are extremely addicting. I met quite a few great people there. The guy that's your enemy on the track, will be the first guy to help you in the pits.

I have met wonderful people at track days. Our CBR1000 private forum use to do a lot of group track days all over the eastern US. But now most in the club are not tracking. I have not been to the track in almost a year!
