Coolant check

How do you do this on a 2019 VFR800F? I have tried shining a torch through the pastic gap, but this does not help. Is one supposed to unscrew the the blach plasic thingy? Thanks

If you shine a torch from underneath in the shade or at night you can see the level. I check mine in the garage before a ride. As already stated taking the seat off is probably the most accurate way. Recently had a hole in my radiator repaired and after riding 1000km discovered the coolant level was at the halfway point on reaching my destination discovered the tank was empty!! Thinking I still had a leak I had it checked again, no leak was found. Topped up the tank and now some 3000km later it hasn’t moved. Although I am aware it is common to have air in the system after a coolant change I didn’t think it would be this much or take that long to clear. I now have a radiator guard fitted.
