As of this past Sunday. I'm a proud new to me owner of a 2002 vfr800 with 18,000 miles on the clock. My previous bike was a 2002 CBR 600 F4i, which was stolen the week prior. I'm going to miss her. We had 17 great riding years together. You definitely can't leave your bike parked out side on the streets of Chicago, even if it's major street and brightly lit. Time to make new memories.

Hey I looked at buying that one! If I remember correctly that bike was part of a guys collection. Welcome to the VFR World. I just got mine on Tuesday and coming off a CBR myself, you probably won’t miss her! Congrats on the new bike and ride safe!

lol, small world. What made you decide not to purchase it? Where are you located 'in Chicago or burbs'? Congrats on your newly acquired bike. It's got a front end wobble when hitting bumps going thru sweepers that I need to sort out when I get the chance.

Thanks, keep the rubber side down

I’m extremely picky and didn’t make the effort to make it down there, plus I found one closer to me with almost the same amount of miles but an 04 and the exhaust was already done. I’m from Wisconsin...Madison area. Hope you get your wobble figured out!

Sorry your bike was stolen. It's sad, but your new one looks great! Hope the weather stays good for a while in Chicago. I'm in the western burbs.

Can you trust a man with two first names?...............Just Kidding!
Welcome to VFRW. I see your other forum reguarding the wobble, and hope you find the cause.
Your new ride looks great (red is the fastest color).

Thanks. They might find it, but State Farms insurance guy doesn't think it will be recovered. We're getting a lot of rain this week and into next week also.

No worries, I've become accustomed to the remarks. I hope I figure it out to. I would have preferred the blue or silver better. It's a great color, but being at the age of 48 riding a bright red bike kinda screams middle age crisis to me 'just without the cash'. lol

I think that you are on the younger side of the age curve around these parts.

welcome to the World son. What do you want to do with your life when you get older? LOL

Bike looks really sweet. PO must have really cared for her. Don't worry the slightest about those miles though. My 06 has over 220,000 km which I believe is somewhere around 136 137K miles. I am working on an issue right now but it has been identified and we are awaiting back ordered parts from Honda to fix it.

DO you have a thread going on the wobble? It would be interesting to see what is going on there.

Most here are proud members of the ATGATT club. Stay safe.

Welcome Sir, sorry you were somewhat forced into buying a VFR, don’t you just hate thieves?! But I’m sure now that you have such a fine steed, you’ll be more than happy to have found it, despite the circumstances.

Nothing really. Maybe get a RV with a trailer for the bike and travel around the country all year round.

I'm not concerned about the mileage.

I do have a thread going for the wobble issue.

    Thanks

I should've had my security cam pointed towards the bike. I didn't they would have the balls to steal it off of a major street. And yes I hate them with a passion.

I'm not sorry at all. The only thing I might be sorry about is leaving my bike out on the street during the warm months for the past couple of years. This one's staying in a garage from now on.
