I have this setup, just had it completely re-done by Corbin......and now I am thinking of selling my '97 VFR. Soooo....I doubt that having the Corbin vrs the recovered OEM seat on the bike would get me much of an increase in selling price, so I was thinking of selling the Corbin itself. But I am wondering if 4th Gen owners would even consider spending $500 on their bike.....

So to my question (finally).....would anyone here even consider buying the seat, passenger pad, slip-on bag for around $500?

    Thanks

Yes would like to buy your seat. Would not pay 500 but willing to pay a few hundred dollars. Any pics? Where are you located. I’m in Southern California and own 94.

Problem is...I just paid-out $465 to have Corbin rebuild the seat, new foam as well as new cover, and shipping. (The seat has not even been sat on) Then adding the passenger pad and the soft bag that slides over the pad is where I get $500....so a few hundred $$$ would not get it......which is why I posted the question......and your response is just what I was thinking....94-97 VFR owners are not likely going to spend $500 on their bike when it has a top value of around $3k.....nearly 20% of their bike's value.

I had not even given a thought to selling my VFR when I sent the seat to Corbin.....but then a Blackbird appeared.

    Oh well.......such is life.

Shadow - there on Corbin seats on ebay for around $100....which of course need recovering, which Corbin charges $425 for a complete rebuild.....good luck

Do you have some pictures to add? I'm in Phoenix and may consider it... but not at $500. I know you have a lot invested in the seat but I would only have a few hundred at best if its something that would be comfortable to me.

coldsoda: I can tell you that the Corbin is far more comfortable than the stock seat! Is it worth the money I spent on it?...no....but after looking into trying to modify the stock seat, I gave in as I knew the Corbin was comfortable no matter how many miles I rode.

By the two responses above and the time period since I posted my question, reaffirmed what I already suspected, no one is willing to pay the Corbin price.
My posting was not a "for sale" listing.....that would go in the Classified area....this was just a question to the 4th Gen owners out there.

If you are coming to close to Tucson one of these days, I could meet you somewhere and swap seats for a few miles for you to try out the Corbin.
