How long does the stock clutch usually last on an 06' or similar? My bike is bone stock except for gutted mufflers and I ride like a Grandma. 19K miles. The clutch is working fine, bike running perfect. My concern is the point at which the clutch engages is far away from the bars. I barely have to move the lever to engage/disengage the clutch. I'm wondering if the plates are worn and it's time for new fiber plates and springs. I've seen reports on here of 50K mi. and the like. Anyone else's like mine? Overthinking it?
I'm the second owner, 11k on it when I bought it.
Headed on a trip on Saturday and running out of time if I'm gonna change it.

I would think the clutch will last quite a while.

You can adjust the "bite point" via the adjuster wheel on the lever perch .

I tweaked the adjuster on the lever and it didn't make much of a difference.

Clutch is probably ok if it's not slipping higher in the rev range

I changed the fibre discs (and springs while I was in there) on my 800 with about 98000km. The clutch had no slip issues but was getting grabby and making for an uneven take-up which made smooth launches harder than they needed to be. The new parts gave a much wider and smoother engagement zone.

I can't imagine that a bike with just 11000 miles would need any clutch pack work, however...11000 miles in 13 years suggests a bike that has sat around a lot. My guess is that the clutch fluid and reservoir need some love i.e. a really good cleanout. If you start to get any debris in the compensation port in the floor of the reservoir you can get unusual behaviour when the fluid pressure can't easily release when the clutch lever is released.

It does get ridden frequently, just not long stretches so it's never really sat for a long period without being ridden, but I totally get your point. Last summer I flushed the fluid as it was getting murky. It's in good shape now.
    Thanks

I will have all the parts to change the clutch if I need to. I'm leaving on my trip Sat morning. I'm just going to bring the parts along in the chase truck and if I need to change it I can. Thanks for all the replies.

I took my 8th gen clutch apart at 26k miles only to change the pressure plate to one I’d had anodised and polished prior to fitting a window cover, nothing to worry about ...it’s the same clutch

    Just enjoy your ride
