Just a quick post on the forum to say hi! Ive used the forum for a few months taking advice on various things and now Ive signed up to offer what i can to help.

About me - I'm an engineer from the UK and have been riding on and off for around 10 years. Previous bikes have been a mixture from cruisers to fireblades but after a serious motocross crash a few years ago, i purchased a 5th gen VFR back in feb 2019 to get me back into the enjoyment of being out on the road and help recovery.

The bike - As mentioned, i own a 5th Gen VFR800, black, 99reg. purchased the bike with everything standard and have since carried out a few modifications to have the bike better suited for me and the girlfriend on the back.

Welcome any questions and look forward to contributing on the forum where i can

Great looking bike! Black is a nice color...we never had them in the US. Nice exhaust. Is that a full system?

Thanks, I never knew they didn’t do black in the US! Any reason why?

The exhaust isn’t a full system, it’s the standard manifold and I bought the exhaust muffler from my brother in law. He had it on his gsxr 750 and removed it before he sold it. I then purchased a stainless downpipe online and welded on two spring clips to ensure it’s kept in place.

Nice bike, whereabouts in the UK are you?
