I'm looking for advice on a replacement exhaust for my new 07 VFR800. I'm partial to Two Bros (on my last ride - 95 Ducati 900SS/SP). I liked the sound and quality. However, I would like to keep mods to a minimum. If I just get the slip-ons, are any other mods necessary? I want to hear that V4 sing a little louder, but I don't want anything too loud!

from those sound clips it looks like a no brainer.. The staintunes seem to have a better sound.
I think the two brothers is a single exhaust with a dummy can.
    I could be wrong tho.

that sound clip of the leo's has the spuds still in. go to my gallery and give a listen to mine with the spuds removed. Awesome IMHO. my Leo's were 684 dollars shipped, in carbon fiber(lighter and cooler)
    bike lost at least 13lbs(6kg)
staintunes are stainless steel (heavier) and run about a $1000.00 you could add a PCIII ($275) with the Leo's for the same money. and if you go with a BMC air filter I know where you can get a custom map. my 2 pennies

I think it impossible to make a wrong choice with the VFR's brilliant sounding v4 but on a Gen 6 the Staintunes are my personal preference at low and then again at mid>high Rev's with the Microns marginally better sounding at low>mid Rev's.

Gen4 & 5 out of normal type cans think the D&D's sound best although spuds out Staintunes are still pretty close. My own Carbon ARROW is great at Low to Mid but looses its note quality at High Rev's where the 'Tunes sound amazing.

Considering the Two Bros exhaust isn't even a real dual exhaust system, i dont know why people even bother to buy them as the second can is a storage area. Never heard anything so dumb in all my life.

My preference is Staintune, but there are others, Micron and Remus also do cans that sound good.

Do any of the above exhausts have fitting issues with the Honda Hard Saddlebags?

I looked at all of the options for my recently purchased '03 and chose titanium Microns. The sound is awesome, install was fairly simple, and they look great! I think they are a better made pipe than most of the others as well (no rivits). I am very pleased with my choice, even @ $850. Thanks for the sound bytes guys, btw.

Thanks for the great info thus far. I really like the look/sound/quality of those Staintune's (thanks RW!) and probably my 1st choice. Was hoping for a little more weight reduction (of course, if I lost 10 lbs, me & the bike would benefit!). Also, looks like they mount easily to the stock setup & don't require a PCIII or air filter mods.

The Two Bros do only route exhaust thru 1 pipe - don't like that either.

Those titainium Microns look great Johnnie5. I checked out your gallery and WOW, could those polished wheels look any nicer!!

Regardless of my exhaust choice, am I missing something if I don't get a PCIII, air cleaner/box or remove the O2 sensor? Any problem with routine maint/reliability (mechanics aren't my forte)??

Thanks! The previous owner had the wheels polished. To tell the truth, I wasn't crazy about them at first...I like the black wheels ~ But they definately grew on me!!!

I have a few friends who own 6th gen VFR's. One has the Staintunes, and the other has Leo Vinces. I have to say it again, the Micron's look AND sound better in person (in my humble opinion). I personally think the Staintunes look too mich like stock, and I am not extremely keen on the construction of the Leo Vinces (not to mention sound). Hope I don't piss anyone off, not trying to offend!

As far as the PCIII goes, I just installed it last night and still working on mapping. I am going to pick up a 02 sensor eliminator today and then will re- map. So far, not entirely stoked with the difference. But I guess the 02 eliminator is crucial. Will let you know after re-map. May consider custom mapping ($$$300).
