Would like to do something like a Wing Ding or Pan Gathering. Have organised a lot of long weekends and tour weeks. Mostly based on route riding as opposed to the social aspect or showing of bikes.
It takes a lot of organising and you cant please all of the people. We did a furthest travelled, but that usually went to the same dedicated person on an annual basis.

Why not try and organise an event in your area?

Yes a wing ding or similar event was what i was thinking of,i have recently tried an event to improve safety whilst including fun with little to know success , and yes the costs can be quite high.
Thanks for sharing your experience , i hope there's going to be others .

Best to start off small and build up would be my suggestion.

At present I organise a wee long tour/rideout limited to 4 people mainly because people don't have that holiday time and a long weekend( arrive Thurs, home on Monday) usually around 15 although the biggest has been 28. It will also depend where you are in the world. Sunny climes will prob attract more then those that are a bit damper if camping. Not everyone can afford or want hotels.
