    Hi All,

I am a 62 year old guy from New South Wales Australia.

I own a highly modded VTR1000f and love it.

My brother is about to push the button on a 2010 VFR1200 .

He has owned a Suzuki TLS 1000 for the last 12 years .

He has hankered for a VFR1200 to enjoy during his retirement.

I am looking for information on how to improve the bike for his use and enjoyment.

We regularly do long weekend rides and the touring capability is what sold him.

At 65 years of age and with many bikes under his belt the range is a welcome feature to rest the bones.

Not looking to turn the bike into a horsepower beast, rather just sensible mods that give a return in the areas of engine and suspension.

Looking forward to contributing to this forum in the future.

I myself have owned many Hondas and love the quality.

    My neighbour has a yellow VFR750 .

I am handy with the spanners and would like to know what exhaust best serves the VFR1200 with panniers and top box.

Also a manual wouldn't go astray.

    Cheers from Australia.

I will post a picture when he picks it up.

    Welcome Kenmoore.
You don't happen to own a VTR with inverted forks and lots of other long distance mods do you?
I saw one at Road Warriors a while back and was very impressed by the quality of the upgrades. Very sensible and reflects what I would also do to a VTR.

    I do own a red 05 VTR1000F

It has ZX10 USD Froks with radial brakes and a list of mods longer than my arms

    Here it is.

    Thanks mate,

    I appreciate it.

Brother picks the bike up tomorrow,

2010 manual with luggage, heated grips , gps manual not DCT, 11,000 Klms in burgundy ( Sorry, don't know the proper name )

    Looking forward to a ride.

Has new tyres and very clean save for one mark on the fairing .

Sold his TLS today, sad as he had it for 13 years and it is a great bike.

The VFR is as quiet as a church mouse and needs some noise.

I will try and get a can on it for him.

    Cheers

Custom full 70mm individual pipes with new Micron carbon cans.

I regard the exhaust as the iceing on the cake.

If you look hard you can see a lot of mods.

I went with my brother today and he picked up his VFR.

I will have fun working on it .
