Who has ran pirelli ST tires and what can you share about grip and how many miles have you gotten out of them?
Found a set on amazon for $199.00 compared to pilot road 5's for $355.00

I've been running Angel GTs on my Ducati and like them. Bike handles well with them. Just replaced the front after 7,200+ miles and have about 4,800 on the rear which is hanging in there nicely. For info the bike is a Monster 1200 and lighter than a VFR with more power. I am not doing track days or pushing it much, but not babying it either. Hope this helps.

Actually the new front is a GT2, presumably an improvement.

At that price, I would try the ST's. I'm finished with Michelin. They went downhill after the Pilot Road tire. Also finished with Pirelli due to consistently being highest price without the highest benefit. They work well though but so do Dunlops for less money. I may try ST's myself due to more reasonable pricing. Good question you asked.

I went to a set of Angel GT2's after my PR5's and I haven't looked back. I have a little over 4k on the Angels and they look like new.

I am a little amazed at the mileage I am getting. Other rear tires have been toast in 2,000 miles for me. If the angel costs more, it is worth it in longevity. You buy less tires and have less tire change expense.

Agree completely. Angel GT's got me a little more mileage but I typically only get 3000 miles from a rear Angel GT at best. With those miles, I'm thinking about going to cheap tires with decent grip. They're out there. I can deal with a rear that slides some. My kind of mileage will happen with hard mountain twisty riding. I only ride recreationally, not for transportation.
