Riding some of my favorite less traveled roads up by Acton today, and got stopped be an LA Sheriff moto cop on one of those big cop BMWs. Said she got me at 77 in a 55 zone when I passed a truck. Said she was going to give me a warning since I followed the truck for a long way before passing. did not mention I passed him on the right since he did not use right lane like slower traffic should. Also no mention of my earplugs which I took out before handing over my papers. At the end asked if I was surprised to be stopped by "a girl". Well, kind of, I did not know there were female moto cops in LASD.

Thanked her for the warning, and shook the extended hand, said ride safe. Hope I don't see her again any time soon. It is rare to see any cops around there. Wonder if there was any relation to the wreck I saw not long before on Big Tujunga Canyon Rd. Rider in full gear down and not moving, apparently out cold in the middle of the road. No idea what happened there, but other bikes, cars, people were around. Nothing I could do to help, so I kept going and stayed out of the way.

    Ride safe out there.

Have to say don’t see too many women law enforcement on motorcycles. Cool that you were let off with a warning. Oh yeah, always check your 6!

I saw her bike back there a good ways, did not realize it was a cop. Too small in the mirrors.
But once I went to pass the truck it started gaining on me fast.
Did not have much time to wonder before I was lit up.
I don't know what the point is where you can't do traffic school. 25 over?

Did you get a date from her? Or was she date material?

Thanks. I was guessing, and remembering getting a 90 in a 55 ticket along with 3 other riders about 10 years back.
We were not going near that fast, but I was still found guilty representing myself in court. Guess I had a fool for a client.
If I get hit with more than 25 over, I am hiring a shyster.

My wife says nobody is date material for me. :drink1:
The officer had a ring on her hand, I noticed.
